my fiance and i were planning a march wedding. he is currently a marine stationed at new river air station in NC, he gets out in october but is taking his terminal in september. while he is on terminal he is going to new york where he is from to be with family and i wont see him til he gets his dd214(military discharge papers). then he will be home from that point til january. he leaves in january to go to the police academy in South Carolina to be a state trooper. he will be in the academy for 18 weeks and i wont get to talk to him. I am going to miss him terribly. give me some tips to pass the time.
i was thinking working doubles at the nursing home i work at. or getting a second job.I have a 3 year old that calls her daddy and she is going to miss him too. how do i explain to her when he leaves that he isnt leaving forever. (we have had many guys that i thought were great walk out on us. her biological father included.

Do not get a 2nd job, that is not fair to your daughter. Take her to the park…do activities that you can do with your daughter. As for him leaving…when he leaves and you both tell him good bye, then say “see you later!” instead of just bye. You could also get a calendar and circle the date that he’s coming home…and mark out the day that you just finished…you could also do that with your daughter as well. It would help with any questions about when she gets to see him, because you would talk about every day when you get to see him.
