Can I use his w-2 form instead of his social security card for county jail marriage?
NIA asked:
I CURRENTLY LIVE IN NASSAU COUNTY, NEW YORK. THE THING IS THAT ME AND MY FIANCE WERE PLANNING A WEDDING WHEN HE WAS HOME. BUT HE ISNT HERE RIGHT NOW. SO WE DECIDED TO DO IT WHILE HE WAS AT THE COUNTY. I KNOW THAT HIS SOCIAL SECURITY CARD IS REQUIRED BUT I DO NOT HAVE HIS CARD. I WANTED TO KNOW IF I WOULD BE ABLE TO BRING IN HIS W-2 FORM INSTEAD BEING THAT IT HAS HIS SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER ON IT? I CANT TALK TO THE COUNSELOR BECAUSE SHE IS A PAIN IN THE NECK.
HE ISNT IN THERE THAT LONG. 90 DAYS. WE PLANNED TO MARRY WHEN HE WAS HOME. WE HAD A DAUGHTER AND SHE PASSED AWAY. WE WANTED TO WED ON HER BIRTHDAY AND HE WONT BE OUT HERE. I WANTED TO KEEP THAT PROMISE TO HER.

I woulden’t see why it couldent be done but at the same time it is easy to “make” one. Your best bet would be to go in and try. The worst they will tell you is no.
Since you came to Yahoo answers, you’re coming for people to answer your question..which I really don’t have. (In Texas, you need the SS card) but I have to say something about your current situation. I’d wait. If it starts in jail, its going to end in jail. I’m sure he’s not in there for THAT long, and if he is, wait it out. Good luck!
nope it has to be the social
even if it wasnt in jail you would need the social card.. they wont take anything else
no copys… they should have given you a paper with everything you need on it…
He’s in county jail which means he won’t be there for very long - otherwise they would have sent him upstate. Save yourself the trouble and do it right when he gets out. If you are really concerned about getting married on his daughter’s birthday then wait a year. The thing is I don’t know if you want to get married on her birthday. Your wedding day should be special for being your wedding day and nothing else. You don’t need to add sad memories to the day with a deceased daughter. I think you will regret doing it at the jail.
He needs to go to the social security office once he gets out and apply for a new card. Sorry but if that is what they require and you don’t have one you are SOL.
