I’m looking for websites for wedding gowns that are under $500, preferably not David’s Bridal. I am looking for gowns that are unique and may be lacy with a touch of color.

Try lilywedding.com. “Over $500″ is the highest price range for a dress on their website.

You need someone who can sew and an imagination. Then you need to take a trip to your local resale shops, find the gown you like and adorn it with lace in a beautiful shade. You can add pearls too.

This is where I got my dress from and I love it! It was only $235 (originally $300 but I got it on sale since I bought it off the rack). I think most of their gowns are around these prices however, at least in the “informals” section.

    Another site:

This is where I was originally going to get my dress from, until I found the one from Venus Bridals. I have heard many, many good things about this company and have also heard that they are very easy to work with.

Good luck and have fun dress hunting! :)

Try Jessica McClintock. I’m going to be in a wedding at the end of the month and I almost got my bridesmaid dress from there but the bride liked one from David’s Bridal. If you’re in CA there are also two Jessica McClintock outlets and you should definitely be able to get a good deal there.

Try Group USA. I found my gown there and it was 450$. they took $50 off of that to begin with (all the gowns were on sale that week) then told me that if i made an appointment to come back for a fitting of that dress (or any other ones i wanted to try on) that took $50 more off so it was $350. friendly staff and the alterations lady was fair in her prices as well

Try theknot.com and search their bridesmaids dresses. I found my Bari Jay dress through this site and it’s absolutely beautiful. Very simple, yet very classy and elegant - for less than 200 bucks! There are many “fancier” bridesmaid dresses to choose from, and if you don’t tell anyone its a bridesmaid dress, they’ll never know!

Here is the link, check it out - I promise you you’ll love it.

    Good luck!

Deja vu! I just answered this one for someone else! Try preownedweddingdresses.com, or usedweddingdresses.com. Both have the right price points, and unusual colors can be found.
As for unique, at these days all you have to do is stay away from A-line and strapless gowns.
If you need to dye it, stick to natural fibers. That’s what someone on this site told me!
