I want to work in the usa. what do i need to do?

wedding planning new york
Ebony Princess asked:

I’m in my final year of university studying Events Mangement. when i’m finished next year i want to work in a wedding company in America either New York or LA as a wedding planner.
What steps should i take and when should i start planning?
I’ve been told it’s best to get a job first and they can sponser you.
Has anyone got any experience in working as a wedding planner in the USA or evening working in the usa?

the paperwork for immigration takes so long, i would apply now — when you have a job, you can find out if they will sponsor you, but in the meantime you would have an application in progress…. if you are on a student visa, start NOW looking for a job that will sponsor you - don’t wait till the visa expires.

    good luck

The best step to do, Go there and find out. Don’t hesitate to ask information about it. Have confident in your self. Don’t lose hope.

As someone who will be getting married in a few years, having a foreigner arrange my TRADITIONAL American wedding is NOT a realistic expectation.

Apply for citizenship now but it will be very hard to find work as a wedding planner in NY or LA will be very hard.
