i want to buy a place and live with my boyfriend/ fiance in it. i would like to get married to him in the year of 2008/2009. we will start a family after we get married. i really need a new house, and a new surrounding. my life will be starting over, and i want everything in my life to be new, fresh and exciting. i love this man deeply and passionately! we are a match made in heaven. he lives in New Jersey now, I live in New York. the communte is not that bad. I want to be with him in the same state, and house. Got any ideas on how we can do this? After we are settled, i plan to buy him a car (shh). For an extreme christmas gift i am going to buy him a gold and white gold cariter wedding band. I will buy him any and everything he needs! i just need to know where and how to start a wonderful life with him in a beautiful house. All suggestions welcome. Ty.

I think you should dump him immediately and start dating me! Jeez! A new car! A new house! All the sex he can handle! And for all of that he doesn’t even have to make any commitment to you?!!! No marriage, nothing! What a lucky guy!

I would slow down a bit… make sure you are not used by this guy

I assume from the above that you are on at least $200,000.00 a year salary ??

If you are not on $200,000 a year salary then you are living in Cuckoo Land.

Beware as there is a major slowdown coming for the US economy.

Ty- take a deeeeeeeeeeep breath! New love is exciting, isn’t it?

That being said, please use wisdom (especially when it comes to your finances).

You and your boyfriend can find a place to rent for right now, you want to get a feel for whatever area you’re going to live with him.

What if you buy a house and the area is not desireable? Look for places that are kid friendly, good school system and safe.

It takes time to research a home you’re going to buy if you do it the right way (look at the property taxes also). Since you are planning on a family, start saving NOW. Kids are expensive! I have an 18 month old and it is CHA-CHING.

Start saving now. Start out wise, plan, talk openly with your boyfriend about your future, WRITE THINGS DOWN (such as goals, milestones, setting money aside for all the $$ you’ll spend on diapers, formula, baby clothes, day care expenses, unexpected fevers and well baby visits, shots, taking time off work, etc).

    Good luck, be smart!
