Start here:
Go to theknot.com and sign up with them. You can search for coordinators and vendors in that area…and they will give you a lot of good wedding planning tips.
You may also want to do a search for planning destination weddings. There are a lot more elements that go into planning a destination wedding, so you will need to be extremely organized.
Do you have any friends or family in Dana Point? If so, they can be a great resource. You can ask them to help out as much as they can. But, if you really want to make things easier you should hire a coordinator in that area. They will make sure everything is in place for you-however, be warned that they are quite expensive. I’ve been quoted a price as high as $12,000.
i would look into a hotel that right next to the beach, they may have beach wedding packages! i am from Ventura county and their is a beautiful hotel that does weddings on the beach and receptions in their ballrooms or restaurant. its the mandalay beach resort -embassy suites
Hello, I am getting married on Laguna Beach, which is close to Dana Point. I have gone through this planner, They have been great and all the info is on their website along with tons of pics.. For a wedding on the sand its only 875.00 which includes all the permits , decorations and the minister fee. + his/her tip. Good Luck and Congrats Also you can google southern California beach weddings. I know there are others that I have looked at but I always go back to this one.
Let me know if I can be of any help. So Cal is my playground!!
invitations by dawn is a great way to start planing for a wedding i like the beach idea we got marrid at a river front park it was grassy with a beatiful back ground
Go to and click ‘local boards’ then go to Orange County, CA. There are several ladies there getting married on the beach in that area or who have already married. You can look at pics by clicking their usernames. You would need to register to be able to post and ask questions. They are also very helpful with finding quality vendors and other info.
Hi!! Well I have a few questions for you and then I will have plenty of idea for you? You want it on the beach what time of year? On a public beach or a private beach owned by a hotel or bed & breakfast? You can also get married on a boat that crusies the bay.
If you do a hotel they normally have a vendor list of people who they require you to use or that they work with offten and perfer to work with! Then some vendors give you discounts, plus with you beaing so far away you wont have to hunt around to find them. Also most Hotels come with a coordinator which can help you a lot!
Do you have any family here that could go and do tasting for you? That a big deal and something to think about? What time of day are you looking? How many guest? A budget do you have one and what % are you spending on the cermony? Do you want to do you reception at the same place?
Sorry to overload you but all those things make a difference where you can have it!
