I once went to a wedding conducted out of doors where the reception consisted of a picnic.
There were no tables or chairs - just rugs. Apart from Champagne for the toast, there was no other drink apart from tea.
The food was homemade scones, jam and clotted cream.
It worked very well (perhaps because it was a stunning rural location).
