I am trying to help my baby sister with her wedding plans and we are in need of a DJ?

They must have their own set up. The wedding will be August 31st, 2007 in Duncanville, Texas which is a suburb of Dallas. We are looking for someone who is available from around 6:45 pm to 10:00 pm at a reasonable rate. We would prefer rock-n-roll and country music.

Advertise in the paper or go round pubs that have their own local DJ’s they would properly do a good rate and you would be able to hear if they are good.

I am planning my wedding now. I found our band by word of mouth. I had a friends tell me that I should go listen to them. They were playing at a local bar…so I got them pretty cheap. I would suggest to check out local bands or ask friends or family if they know anyone. Another peice of advice that may sounds odd..ask for references and have a contract..just to make sure they are on time, preform sober, or are not their for the length of time you reserved them for.
    Good luck!

I would try calling local radio stations and see if they know of anyone. That’s how I found my DJ. Sometimes they have their own DJ services on the side.

Post a note on the local community board (usually at a supermarket or diners) and also on the board at the local churches…. you’ll get plenty of responses. The other way would be to use your local community newspaper and advertise your need.
