He is willing to travel, and very professional. I attached Ole’s website link for your viewing. He starts at $1485, but I’m not sure what your budget is. Hope it works out well.

Check on craigslist - if you can’t find anyone, advertise that you need a photographer. My advice though - the pictures are the one thing that you will have from your wedding that will last the entirety of your marriage and life. The cake is gone in 20 minutes, the favors will be thrown away, and the limo ride is over before you know it. The pictures last forever. Skimp on everything else - spend on the photos.

You get what you pay for! One neat idea though is make a budget for the wedding and see what your photography would cost. Then spend a fraction of that on a case of disposable cameras. You’ll get a great perspective on the wedding and probably many more great photos of not only you and your new husband, but the guests as well. :)

This is just a suggestion to consider:
A friend of mine had a very tight budget for her wedding, so they bought a few dozen disposable cameras and put them on all the tables. (It was an outdoor wedding with the reception at the same place.) The guests passed around the cameras and took all kinds of shots. Believe it or not, they ended up with an incredible album…and memories to last forever. (The guests had a blast taking the photos!)
Not sure if this would be feasible for you, but just thought I’d share what I found to be a cool idea.
Good luck on your wedding….and photographs :-) Peace!

You could reduce your costs by expecting less of your photographer. Keep the amount of posed shots to a minimum and give some of your guests disposable cameras as they enter so you can get many ametuer shots from different perspectives. Many guests will already have their best cameras handy.
If only the important pictures such as the bride and groom, best man and maids, and in-laws are important to you, the rest can be taken by good friends as the wedding proceeds. Be aware though that you might not get that good picture of the ring bearer and flower girl or the Daddy-Daughter dance.
I pesonally never saw the need to spend thousands of dollars on an extravagant wedding and my wife and I are still very happily married.

Go to the local college or university that has an art department and talk to the teacher who teaches photography. He/She can give your name to a student who can take the photos for you and you can offer them $450 - 550. Listen. Photographer should take photos of bride and groom separately before the wedding (and if you aren’t against it both together - bride looks her best before the wedding). They then have to travel to the church and take photos of you with groomsmen, bridesmaids, children, family, etc. Then they have to take photos all during the ceremony and during the reception they should take photos of you dancing, cutting the cake. A picture of the cake before it is cut. Smashing it into each other’s faces, etc. They have to pay for all their own supplies and gas for the travel (you get my point). It will get them some much needed experience for weddings and you could make the deal that all photos are if possible digital and saved to a disc. They should print off copies of whatever photos you want in sizes that you want. They would be within their right to charge extra for those. For the record they should take about 500 to 1500 photos. (some may turn out really well others not so well). They should have a good camera (if they are in a class they should definitely have a good camera). They should be allowed to go through the photos and remove the photos that are not quality. Then print these photos in 3 1/2 x 5 sizes and put in an album that you can flip through. Negotiate for this. But if you want bigger sizes you should pay for that extra.

Here’s an idea… get disposable cameras and put them on the table at the reception. This way, people can take pictures for you!
